On one of those weekend, we finally got to visit this place called Jakarta Aquarium.  I was really excited to come here because I’ve been seeing this at people’s feed on Instagram and at one of my favorite blogger site, Andra from Alodita.com.  I was a bit worried that the ticket would be expensive, but the price was quite reasonable, plus they have a promo with my CIMB card, so it’s always a plus.

The ticket price:

Regular weekday/weekend: IDR 175,000

Premium weekday:/weekend IDR 225,000 (with additional 5D show)

Kids below 2 years are free of charge, Amelie was 2 years and 11 months at the time, so it’s still free (yeay!).

I really like the way they combine digital aquarium and the real aquarium there.  Amelie was so happy from the moment we step in, she was at this stage where she’s all about Nemo and Dory, and there are plenty of Dory and Nemo in this place.  They also have reptiles, crabs, and even piranha.  For me, the best part is the mermaid show.  Yes, they have mermaid!!! It’s a musical show called pearl of the south sea, where they also feature real-life mermaid dancers (see here, for detail schedule)!

Quick tips:

I would suggest coming here around 10 to 11-ish,  2 hours should be enough to strolling around this venue and then finish at lunchtime right after the mermaid show.  Also, bring some snacks, you don’t want to have a cranky kid while watching the show.

Another tip is to ensure that you come to Neo Soho Mall and park there because it’s gonna be a long walk if you walk from Central Park.

Overall, we love this place, definitely recommend this for weekend activities with kids.  If I could suggest few thing for improvements, I do wish they have breastfeeding room inside and more food choices at their cafe.  Otherwise, we really enjoy our time there!
